PREVENTION IS THE ONLY CURE

InBody FRA System

(Fall Risk Assessment)

The InBody Fall Risk Assessment (FRA) identifies fall risks and evaluates balance, particularly benefiting elderly patients. With up to 80% of falls preventable, the FRA helps medical professionals detect and manage fall risks proactively. By assessing balance and pinpointing factors like leg strength, the FRA supports effective fall prevention with personalized care plans.

What is InBody FRA System?

The Fall Risk Assessment (FRA) system evaluates fall risk by analyzing physical balance and leg strength. Utilizing data on bilateral limb muscle mass from InBody, this system provides a comprehensive analysis that results in an intuitive score. This score tracks changes in balance abilities and identifies potential risk factors, thereby enhancing management capabilities. The FRA system not only assesses balance capabilities but also accurately identifies individual fall risk factors. It includes a training mode designed to improve balance abilities.

FRA System Oklahoma State University

We have chosen the InBody Fall Risk Assessment (FRA) system for its comprehensive evaluation of fall risk, analyzing body balance, lower limb muscle mass, and leg strength. Unlike other tools, the FRA provides an intuitive score that allows for easy tracking of balance changes and proactive management of risk factors. This system will be instrumental in our research, which focuses not only on fall prevention in older adults but also on implementing long-term strategies for middle-aged adults. The FRA will help us better understand key risk factors and improve prevention efforts across different age groups.

Key Parameters

Sensory System Analysis
The Sensory System Analysis assesses equilibrium maintenance using detailed inputs from the somatosensory, visual, and vestibular senses. This test, known as m-CTSIB, evaluates your ability to maintain balance amidst sensory impairments.
Integrated Balance Capability Test
The Integrated Balance Capability Test measures how effectively the center of gravity is managed while maintaining balance. It considers the coordinated performance of the sensory, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems in achieving overall body stability.
Nervous System Analysis
Neural System Analysis gauges reaction times and posture retention to assess how swiftly you respond to situations. As reaction speeds typically decrease with age, enhancing quick recognition and judgment in potentially hazardous situations can significantly reduce fall risks among the elderly.
Musculoskeletal System Analysis
Musculoskeletal System Analysis determines the adequacy of leg muscle mass and strength, and whether symmetrical balance is maintained. A decline in these areas is common in the elderly and is a crucial risk factor for falls due to lower extremity weakness.

Highlights

InBody FRA Consultation Desk

Personalized treatment and patient management

The results provide various parameters that enhance the quality of treatment for balance issues and falls. Treatments are simplified through scores and evaluations that are easily understood. Moreover, an efficient and personalized patient management system can be established by periodically monitoring and treating high-risk fall groups.

Progress and improvement through fun

The InBody FRA does not simply perform balance capability tests, but also provides balance exercises that can improve the lacking balance factors in patients. Balance exercises provide a customized program for each patient based on the initial balance capability test.
These balance exercises are presented in a playful manner, meaning the InBody FRA has integrated games to enhance the balance of patients through play. These games are specifically designed to make balance improvement fun!
