Abstract Aims/Introduction Sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT 2) inhibitors function to increase urinary glucose excretion and improve glycemic control in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. SGLT 2 inhibitors, as well as diuretics, increase urinary volume, which leads to the reduction of blood pressure.
