We have reviewed the relevant literature concerning fat-free-mass (FFM) measurements by foot-to-foot impedance meters (FFI) and eight-electrode devices by adding four electrodes for the hands. FFI measures the lower body resistance R between heels and calculate FFM with an equation including R, height H, weight W and age by comparison with FFM measured by Dual X-Ray.
