Aims We examined dapagliflozin-induced changes in liver fat accumulation. Methods We prospectively recruited Japanese patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)[hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)> 7.0%]. Dapagliflozin (5 mg/day) or non-sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) was added to the patients' treatment regimen for 6 months.
