Studies have shown improvement of the cardiac autonomic balance in post-bariatric patients. Most of these studies included patients using drugs interfering in the autonomic nervous system. This study assessed the time course of changes in the sympathovagal balance after bariatric surgery (Roux-en-Y gastric bypass) in 26 women free from drugs.
