The ratio of the volumes of extracellular water to total body water (ECW/TBW) obtained by multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (MF-BIA) indicates body water balance. However, the characteristics of ECW/TBW in hemodialysis (HD) patients have not been fully investigated yet.
